Anthony Cooper Driving School Terms And Conditions

The Driving Instructor (Anthony Cooper)
Is a self-employed independent fully qualified DVSA driving instructor. All lessons booked direct with him constitute an agreement between himself (the Instructor, Anthony Cooper) and the student.
Driving Lessons
To take driving lessons you must hold a valid UK Provisional Driving Licence. You must be able to read (with glasses or contact lenses, if necessary) a car number plate made after 1st of September 2001 from 20 metres.
All payments are made direct to the Instructor (Anthony Cooper) and any refunds due will be made from Anthony Cooper.
Road Safety
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) reserves the right to cancel the lesson if the student is deemed to be unfit for driving due to alcohol, drugs or other medical reasons that may affect the safety of others.
It is your responsibility to arrive for your driving lessons in a fit state to drive.
Should your driving instructor (Anthony Cooper) suspect that you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or for any other reasons that may affect your ability to drive, the lesson will be terminated and the full lesson fee will be charged.
Medication
You MUST NOT be under the influence of any medical drugs that affects your ability to understand and follow instruction. In the event of there being any sign of such and affecting your abilities negatively, your instructor (Anthony Cooper) will have no choice but to cancel your lesson, and you will be charged in full. Any prescribed medication that may affect your driving must be declared to your instructor but such details will remain confidential.
Punctuality
In their own interests learners are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments. All such appointments should be recorded. The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) will normally wait no more than 10 minutes before abandoning the lesson when the lesson fee would be forfeited or become due for payment. A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if we are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by us either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date.
Block Bookings
Must be paid for in advance otherwise the normal hourly rate will apply.
Cancellations/Changed Lessons
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the time of the lesson to the Instructor (Anthony Cooper) or the lesson fee will be charged.
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) reserves the right to cancel lessons if the student is not fit to drive due to safety or hygiene reasons (for example colds and flu), in these circumstances the lesson price will be forfeited.
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) has the right to cancel a lesson at any time due to poor weather, illness, car maintenance or similar and / or any other unforeseen circumstance outside the Instructor’s control.
Where possible, every effort will be made to provide an alternative date and time to suit you and the Instructor.
If you, (the student) wish to reduce the length of a previously arranged lesson, you must give your Instructor (Anthony Cooper) at least 48 hours notice during normal office hours between 09:00hrs and 18:00hrs. Failure to do so will result in your Instructor charging you for the full duration of the lesson as originally booked.
Practical Driving Tests
Driving tests can only be taken by holders of a current Provisional Driving Licence.
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) will advise the student when it is appropriate to book the practical test.
The instructor (Anthony Cooper) reserves the right to withdraw their car from use for the practical driving test, without notice, should the pupil prove not to be of test standard for safety reasons. The instructor will not be responsible for any fees which are lost as a result.
Insurance Cover
The driving instructor (Anthony Cooper) will carry the appropriate motor insurance to provide comprehensive cover should the student be involved in a collision as a learner driver whilst driving the driving instructor’s car with the instructor. However, whilst on test, the student is deemed liable and responsible in the event of any incident or accident, to pay for any damages or any insurance excess incurred. The insurance policy excess payable by the student in the event of any incident or accident is £250.
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) reserves the right to withdraw the car for tests without notice should the student prove not to be up to test standard.
Responsibility
The Instructor (Anthony Cooper) can not be held responsible for postponements of lessons due to illness or mechanical breakdown, nor for driving tests postponed by the Driving Vehicle and Standards Agency.

Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or miss-described goods or services provided. We have a statutory obligation to provide you with goods and services fit for the purpose for which they were bought and as described. If you have any doubts about your statutory rights please contact your local trading standards department or citizen's advice bureau.
